2006 Young Tall Poppy Science Award Recipients
Fifteen bright young scientists were named Young Tall Poppies for 2006/2007 for their outstanding contributions to areas ranging from galaxy evolution to cancer cells.
The 2006/2007 award winners were:

- Dr Kirstie Fryirs, Macquarie University fluvial geomorphology and river management
- Dr Andrew Harris, University of Sydney sustainable technology
- Dr Andrew Hopkins, University of Sydney astrophysics
- Dr Ulrike Mathesius, Australian National University plant microbial interactions
- Dr Adam Micolich, University of New South Wales nanoscale electronic devices
- Dr Geraldine ONeill, The Childrens Hospital, Westmead cancer cell biology
